Kate Tallent created the design of this web site while a staff member at the International Youth Foundation. The large-scale project resulted in a new look and improved user experience to appeal to a varied audience: youth, donors, grantors, media and the public.
IYF is a nonprofit working in close to 70 countries and territories to improve the conditions and prospects for young people. Established in 1990, IYF works with hundreds of companies, foundations and civil-society organizations to strengthen and "scale up" programs making a positive and lasting difference in young lives.
One key aspect of the site was a revolving image library on the home page, reflecting the varied demographics within the IYF mission. The site accomplishes its goals: creating dynamic design that fits into the IYF brand aesthetic and providing an information tool.
The site won Gold in the 2004 Wilmer Shields Rich Awards for Excellence in Communication, given out by the Council on Foundations.
The International Youth Foundation is located in Baltimore, MD.
