Kate Tallent
For Kate, design is the coming together of vision, strategy and imagination. As principal of Kate Tallent Design (KTD), she has worked with more than 80 companies and institutions including the World Bank, the White House Fellows Program and Georgetown University. A deep appreciation of innovation and creativity fuels her work. Inspired by new ideas, Kate has found kinship with clients in a wide range of fields including advocacy, public policy, academia, finance and business. Kate takes pride in managing each client relationship personally, creating a climate of responsiveness and accessibility during each project.
As a student, Kate combined artistic ability with a love of culture and history. It is this innate interest in people, culture and the world that has shaped her approach to design, and has led her to visit Costa Rica, Ghana, Peru, and the Czech Republic. Her work with regional, national and international clients reflects her passion for creativity and attention to detail.
An award-winning graphic designer, Kate has worked in the communications field since 1996. She is a project manager and creative director for video, print and Web campaigns. Kate graduated from Towson University (BS in Fine Art) and the University of Baltimore (MA in Publication Design). Before starting KTD, she was a graphic designer at the International Youth Foundation and FCW Government Technology Group. A member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington, Kate lives in Washington, DC.

Stan Mims
Stan Mims is a seasoned designer, production manager and publication specialist. Stan has more than 18 years of experience in the legal publishing, trade association, nonprofit and corporate marketing arenas, and provides critical attention to detail with spot-on execution to achieve your bottom-line goals.
Stan's focus is on print design and he has been key in the design of numerous projects for CentroNia, International Finance Corporation, and the National Commission on Energy Policy. Stan's flair for color and type are a major strength of his design sensibility.
Stan holds a BS in mass communications with a minor in journalism. Further study includes the George Washington University's Publication Specialist Program.
Graphic Designer:
Kathy Foltin
With a passion for mission-based communications, Kathy Foltin specializes in publications and conference identity work for KTD's nonprofits, associations and public interest groups. Her background includes 16 years' experience in design, art direction and project management.
Kathy's contributions to the design of projects for clients such as SelfPride, DC Central Kitchen, DC Area Health Education Network, and the Arthritis Foundation-Metropolitan Washington Chapter have been noticed. Kathy's use of photography and type are always unique. She has earned recognition for her annual report work from the Wilmer Shields Rich Awards for Excellence in Communications and the Savannah Advertising Federation.
Kathy received a BA in English from Towson University and an MA in Publications Design from the University of Baltimore.
Graphic Designer and Production Artist:
Alissa Taylor
Alissa is a flexible and thoughtful designer, with projects ranging from print material and web sites to packaging and environmental signage. She expresses her unique view of the world through design, music and fine art. Her talent is putting the pieces
together. Alissa enjoys listening to clients and delivering designs that illuminate things they hadn't even realized about themselves.
Alissa has been instrumental in the design of numerous projects for the World Bank, Bipartisan Policy Center, and the Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty. As graphic designer, she brings something original to all her projects.
Alissa earned a bachelor's with honors in communications design from Carnegie Mellon University.
Design Intern:
Simon Fong
Simon is currently enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts, Integrated Design program at the University of Baltimore. Simon hails from Singapore where he founded eadc (electronic arts and design company), a boutique design agency. Simon is a creative, innovative and highly motivated team player who is able to work on multiple projects and keep tight deadlines. KTD is happy to have Simon on-board.
