Kate Tallent and her team at KTD are wonderful! Their attention to detail and follow up cannot be beat. They would constantly check in to make sure everything was going great, and I think they were more excited than I was when the invitations they designed were sent out. The entire team shares an enthusiasm and strong work ethic and they really make you feel part of their family.
Web Process
When you work with us, you will be working with a team of dedicated professionals who follow a process for print and web projects.
We listen intently to clients, perform the necessary research, and produce outstanding work. Below is how we work:
Web Process
Step 1 • Intro Phone Call.
KTD is committed to learning about you, your organization, your mission, your objectives and your goals. Our 15-minute phone call will let us know if we are a good fit.
Step 2 • In-Person Meeting or Phone Call with Executive Team.
This meeting takes about an hour and will ensure your needs can be met by our team. Chances are they can but we want to make sure our team meets your expectations.
Step 3 • Discussion of Scope of Work.
We can handle this in a phone call and we will go over the scope of the work, price and time period to design and develop the site. We will provide a written proposal to base our conversation on. If we need to refine proposal- and thus contract- after conversation we can.
Step 4: Kick off Meeting.
After contract has been signed, to ensure the success of the web site’s design, the first step is an hour long in person meeting or teleconference to learn about your organization.
Step 5 • Needs Analysis.
Concepts are presented via KTD's client login portal or via email. Two concepts are presented. Each concept consists of home page and one archetypal subpage based on an approved site architecture. During this phase the following is performed:
- Review of Web Content
- Site Architecture and Wireframes are discussed and produced
Also note:
- This phase can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on scope of the site.
Step 6 • Design
Two concepts are provided as templates and the each consist of a home page and sub page. Client to approve one concept. Client receives 2-rounds of revisions during the design stage to selected concept.
Step 7 • Develop and Launch Site.
We convert final designs into working HTML templates. KTD will provide two sets of revisions on the HTML templates. Once the templates are approved, KTD will build out the site. Client receives 2-rounds of revisions to the HTML stage. During this phase client and KTD perform:
- Install any custom modules or 3rd party tools
- Migrate content
Also note:
- During this KTD will integrate a content management system if desired. We use Drupal and WordPress quite a bit these days as well as other open source content management systems such as Joomla. A content management system (CMS) is a content editing tool that will allow clients to update text and graphical content for all pages on the site without requiring knowledge of HTML or FTP technologies.
This phase can take up to 2-months depending on scope. During this phase we also test and support the browsers below:
Macintosh:
Safari 4+
Firefox 4+
Chrome 15+
We provide a CMS manual and can train your staff how to manage site via conference call.
KTD can also create Membership Management, Conference Registration, Event Registration, News and Press Releases, Video Oral History Interviews, Members-Only Section, Guest Book, Site-Wide Search, Members Online, Chat Room Forum and more.
