PHP Programming

Kate Tallent Design (KTD) and our pool of senior-level consultants can provide PHP Programming. PHP Programming is Open Source, which is a programming language, which adds complex functionality to a site. It can access databases and aggregate data to make your web site more powerful.

PHP can transform a static webpage into a dynamic one with its general-purpose server-side scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. It is widely used and can be deployed on a host of web servers, as well as many operating systems and platforms. An additional benefit of PHP is that it boasts a large base of developers while being free to clients.

Web content management systems written in PHP include WordPress and Drupal — which are our two favorite forms of PHP.

Joomla, dotCMS, and DotNetNuke are the other types of PHP we use. All websites created using these tools are written in PHP, including the user-facing portion of Wikipedia, Facebook, and Digg.

The solutions below are a sampling of KTD's most commonly deployed open source content management systems, all of which can be integrated seamlessly with SocialToaster, a great new social marketing automation system. We work with clients on a case-by-case basis to assess which solution meets their needs and requirements.

Drupal
is one of the most widely used web content management systems, and was recently awarded the inaugural Hall of Fame Award in Packt Publishing’s 2009 Open Source CMS Awards. KTD has been actively deploying Drupal since 2009, and we work with one of the leading Drupal solution providers in the mid-Atlantic region.

WordPress
is arguably the leading open-source blogging platform and was named 2009 Overall Best Open Source Content Management System in Packt Publishing’s Open Source CMS Awards. We can provide custom design or use clean out-of-the-box templates, user-friendly interface, and ease of implementation make it a cost-effective choice for organizations looking to implement a simple blog or basic content management system.

dotCMS
features cutting-edge Web 2.0 technologies, an enterprise-level scalable architecture, and a robust taxonomy-based design. We love this Java-based content management system.

Joomla!
is a popular PHP-based content management system that originally evolved from an earlier CMS project, called Mambo.

DotNetNuke
is the top web content management system for Microsoft .NET. This makes it the ideal solution for organizations that have an existing Microsoft Windows-based infrastructure or that require sophisticated integration with Microsoft .NET-based solutions.
