When you work with us, you will be working with a team of dedicated professionals who follow a process for print and web projects.
Print Process
Step 1 • Kickoff meeting in person.
KTD is committed to learning about you, your organization, your mission, your objectives and your goals. Having established this understanding, we can specifically define your needs.
Step 2 • Design of two concepts.
Concepts are presented in person at either client or KTD offices. Each concept consists of a cover and one spread (left and right facing page) using client-supplied copy. These are always, when possible, printed in color at 100 percent scale. In the case of a brochure, we may elect to put together a paper dummy to show folds. In most cases, the concepts will be presented on black board for client to keep.
Step 3 • Finalize design direction once concept is selected.
Client to approve orally or by email that concept is approved. Layout to begin.
Step 4 • Layout of text and images. Once client has approved all copy including any charts, tables or other information graphics, we ask that a master Word document be provided to us. In the case of an intricate information graphic, client is asked to provide a sketch that we can create the information graphic from. The key is receiving all materials at the same time.
The following items to be supplied by the client:
Also note:
Step 5 • Two rounds of revisions
The revisions will be provided to client in two sets of B&W galleys (11" x 17” sheets with left-and-right facing spreads) and PDFs to show color breaks. Client is asked to neatly write all corrections in red type on galleys or, in the instance of numerous changes, to send new copy. Basically, we work with the client in the manner that makes it easiest for you to indicate corrections. In the event client exceeds the two rounds, KTD will charge via change order. This is a document listing items with costs attached. Depending on scope of changes, we will either make these additional changes upon payment or elect to add these costs on to final invoice.
